If you are looking for a high quality, mud resistant, tough watch, then the new G-Shock GG-1000 Mudmaster series will bring a smile to your face. Here’s why.
If you look closer, the Mudmaster GG-1000 series is a smaller version of the Mudmaster GWG-1000 series – one of the best G-Shock in Master-G line up; however with less features and price tag. This new watch in Mudmaster line up has all the features you require in a modern watch and built to withstand everything that is thrown at it including wet, cold, hot and muddy conditions. It can be used in the air, at sea or anywhere on land. Owning and buying the new GG-1000 is the perfect way to treat yourself to a multi-purpose watch and is also the perfect gift to give to an adventurer who means a lot to you.
Some Great Reasons to Own the New G-Shock GG-1000 Mudmaster
As you can see, many watches are marketed as being the toughest watch available. However, most of these watches fall short of this promise. A wide range of models have a limited time span and are not as durable as their manufacturers promise.
This is not the case with the G-Shock GG-1000 Mudmaster. It can withstand all types of extreme conditions, harsh environments and any severe punishment that is thrown at it. This is achieved through the GG-1000’s dust and mud-resistant structure. It’s the perfect solution for individuals who like to spend a lot of time outside in places where there’s plenty of dust, dirt, water and sand, which can affect more inferior products.
G-Shock GG-1000 Mudmaster Watches Size and Appearance
If you’re searching for a rugged watch that looks great, it’s hard to look past this new G-Shock GG-1000 series. Right now there are three models from which to choose;
- The first model is the GG-1000-1A3, which features an army green urethane band .
- The second model is the GG-1000-1A5, and its band is a desert tan color with negative display.
- Finally, the last model has a black band is the GG-1000-1A. (see complete models below)
All variations of the GG-1000 series are available to suit a wide range of tastes and requirements.
Many watch manufacturers are producing smaller, reduced versions of their most popular models. This time, G-Shock decided to do this with their G-Shock Mudmaster GWG-1000 by creating this model. As you can see, the bezel has a similar design as the GWG-1000, but the GG-1000 doesn’t have a big front-facing back-light button, and the GG-1000 has a mineral glass display, while the GWG is saphire display.
The case for GG-1000 measures approximately 56.2 × 55.3 × 17.1 mm, and it weighs in at approximately 92g. So they are slightly larger than Rangeman series (55.2mm x 53.5mm x 18.2mm), but smaller than GWG-1000 (59.5mm x 56.1mm x 18.0mm) by quite a bit.
Easy to Use with Big Buttons
Like his “old brother”, the new G-Shock GG-1000 series is designed to be incredibly easy to use, thanks to its large buttons. Those big buttons allow you to use quickly the compass and temperature features built into the GG-1000. This is particularly important if you are spending time off the beaten track and require a watch that reacts quickly to your actions, which is often a problem if a watch has smaller, more awkward buttons.
Twin Sensors Capabilities
The twin sensors in this watch set it apart from many of its competitors. These sensors are used to control a compass bearing and also to measure temperatures.
If you are worried about getting lost when you’re on an adventure, the GG-1000 has got you covered. A digital compass ensures that it becomes almost impossible to get lost, no matter how weak your sense of direction is. The GG-1000 is a smart watch because it includes a bearing memory function. This feature shows direction readings based on the direction you began to travel from, which makes it much safer to travel in dark, misty or foggy conditions.
Inbuilt Accurate Thermometer
An accurate reading of extreme temperatures can often be a lifesaver, so it’s important to have this feature on your watch. The G-Shock GG-1000 model measures temperatures as low as -10°C (14°F) and as high as 60°C (140°F). These readings are easy to view, and the measuring unit is 0.1 C or 0.2°F.
Other Important Features
Water’s not a problem either with this model. As well as being shock resistant and mud resistant, it can perform at depths of up to 200 meters.
Is likely most owners of this type of watch are adventurers which mean they will more than likely travel to other parts of the world. It caters for 31 time zones, which includes 48 cities. The G-Shock GG-1000 series also has a city code display and daylight saving capabilities.
The GG-1000 Mudmaster can be transformed into an accurate 1/100 second stop watch too. The other stopwatch features available include split time, elapsed time, measuring modes and first place and second place timing. A countdown timer is another feature you may require at certain times, with a countdown range of 60 minutes.
Every watch needs an alarm, especially if you find it difficult to get out of bed, or you’re going on longer trips away. Five daily alarms and a single snooze alarm ensure that you get up when you should and stick to your original travel plans if you are exploring somewhere new.
This watch has a range of useful feature that comes in handy while you are away from home or during your everyday life. These include a full auto calendar, the choice of a 12 or 24-hour format and auto LED back-light with afterglow.
Bear in mind, unlike his brother the GWG-1000 series, the GG-1000 is a battery-powered watch (not Tough Solar). Each GG-1000 requires SR927W batteries and these batteries last for approximately two years.
